Harry J Young Obituary (1933 - 2009) - Three Rivers, Michigan

Harry Junior Young, age 76 of rural Three Rivers, died Monday August 3, 2009 at his home. He was born in Three Rivers, MI on Jan. 5, 1933 the son of Harry and Jessie Young. He graduated from Centreville High School and later served in the U.S. Army. Harry was married to Marjorie Irene Bates on Feb. 25, 1956 in Angola, IN. She died in 1981. Harry was employed by Continental Can Co., later known as the Fonda Group for over 42 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. He especially enjoyed woodworking and making furniture. Harry is survived by 3 children, Randy Young (Theresa) of Vandalia, Glenda Barnes (David) of Grayling, and Glenn Young of Three Rivers; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Alice Kenneth, Jean Fellows (Bob) and Hazel Hagenduch (Paul); several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie; a sister, Virginia Truckenmiller; and a brother, Howard Young. Cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 in the Family Life Center at the Corey Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Gary Carr officiating. The family will receive friends following services in the Family Life Center. A private interment of ashes will take place later in Poe Cemetery. Memorials will be directed to the church.
