Norman Brown, age 61 of Constantine died Sunday July 8, 2012 at Borgess Medical in Kalamazoo following a short illness. He was born on Sep. 8, 1950 in Ypsilanti, MI the son of Norman and Ardith (Wilson) Brown. He has been a resident of Constantine since 1989 coming from Three Rivers. His early adult life was spent in Jackson, MI where he owned and operated Brown's Pump Service. He was later employed by General Motors as a job setter, and also at Sigma Wire and Pace American. \n\nNorman was active in motorcycle clubs in Jackson and Ypsilanti where he served as President and held other offices. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion; American Motorcycle Association; American Legion Riders; Huron Valley Nighthawks; Abate of Michigan; and was an officer in the Three Rivers Elks Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, hummingbirds, and his dog, Chewie.\n\nNorman was married to Sondra G. Puckett on June 23, 1995 in LaGrange, IN. She survives along with a daughter, Rene (Trent) VanHorn of Cape Coral, FL; a son, Norman Brown III of Sturgis; step-daughter, Sabrina Reynolds of Athens, MI; his mother, Ardith Johnson of Jackson; 7 grandchildren; a sister, Debby Leathead of Naploeon, MI; half-sister, Michelle (Randy) Roderick of Jackson; a brother, Kevin Brown of Jackson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Beverly Spencer; and a brother, Craig Brown.\n\nThe family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday July 13, 2012 at the funeral home with Deacon Kevin Puckett officiating. Cremation will follow services. Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
