Shirley Ann Dodgson, age 78 of Three Rivers, died Sunday Oct. 18, 2009 at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers following a brief illness. She was born in Colon, MI on Aug. 15, 1931 the daughter of Shirley and Leona (Kline) Burnham and has been a lifetime resident of Saint Joseph County. \n\nShirley was a 30-year employee of Continental Can Company in Three Rivers. She enjoyed doing yard-work, fishing, computer games, and casino trips. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley was married Charles "Dusty" Dodgson, Jr. on June 6, 1958 in LaGrange, IN. He died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Alisa Evans; and a brother, Roger Burnham.\n\nShirley is survived by 4 daughters, Ruth Claussen (Jeffrey) of Three Rivers, Marilyn Arterbery (Charles Hartman) of Howe, IN, Marian Olson (David) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Debra Cook of Kokomo, IN; 1 son, Gary Dillman (Theresa) of Kokomo, IN; 7 grandchildren, Jess Evans, Beth Swaw (David), Charles Lane (Lorna), Jennifer Maessen, Kori Rhum (Virginia), Amanda Simpson (Donny), and Dusty Dillman; 9 great-grandchildren, Aaron Brown, Joslynn, Jason, and Jordon Evans, Casey and Frankie Swaw, Jadn and Ryln Simpson, and Siona Rhum; 1 great-great- grandchild, Jase Gray; 2 brothers, Cleon Burnham (Shirley) of Three Rivers, and Michael Burnham (Neva) of Colon; 2 sisters, Rosalie Dickens (Fritz) of Colon, and Christina Fisher (Jim) of Athens; several nieces and nephews. \n\nCremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers where the family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services.
